Schools with Diploma Project Advisers

The Diploma Project Adviser (DPA)

Diploma Project Advisers (DPAs) are graduation coaches that are placed at middle and high schools district-wide to coordinate intervention services focused on improving the graduation rate.  DPAs are supplemental (Title 1 funded) positions, assigned to schools with the highest percentage of students at-risk of dropping out of school.  They collaborate with other school support staff (PSA Counselor, PSW, Grade Level Counselor, ELA Counselor, etc.) and assist with reducing the dropout rate and increasing the graduation rate.  DPAs work diligently to address the unique needs of at-risk students and their families by: recovering students who appear on the potential dropout lists, coordinating services and resources at their school sites, conducting parent meetings to educate parents regarding graduation requirements, collaborating with feeder schools, creating partnerships with community based organizations, and working with Options schools and Alternative Education programs to support students to graduate and earn a high school diploma.
