The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Dropout Prevention and Recovery Program is invested in working collaboratively with existing organizations who share the same goals of increasing the number of students attaining a diploma.  Some of these efforts are summarized below: 

America’s Promise Alliance:

 Under the leadership of General Colin Powell and his wife,  this organization has forged a  strong and effective partnership alliance committed to seeing that children experience the fundamental resources they need to succeed – the Five Promises (caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, an effective education and opportunities to help others) – at home, in school and out in the community.  They work with different companies, non-profit organizations, schools, faith-based organizations, individuals and charitable organizations to increase awareness and provide resources.  For more information please visit their website http://www.americaspromise.org/APA.htm .  LAUSD and the America’s Promise Alliance are currently planning a Los Angeles Dropout Prevention Summit!  Check our website for updates.
